Rise

Sunday Whirl #110- May  26, 2013
Rise by Teri H  Hoover

Finding love close
within fertile layers.
I anchor my heart
to the curves of the current.
Free to shift and yield
the range of this phrase riding a beam of light.

Long months of ripping away.
Lofting tatters connect and rise,
redeemed.

Gently

Next door neighbors weeping cherry tree- Blacksburg, VA- April 22, 2013

All that room
outside.
My heart finds safety.
Through these gentle blossoms
Light.

I have considered "going dark" as the cool bloggers say. Taking some time off from the online space. But as soon as I say that I will want to post. Such is the nature of being me. So for now despite some behind the scenes meltdown and fumblings. I will continue with my little weekly posts. I can feel the deep sigh of relief from the universe. Onward with my leaking and lurking and rambling.

On the bright side on July 6, 2013 our garden will be a part of the 18th Annual New River Valley Garden Tour .  Sponsored by Friends of the Montgomery County Library (proceeds to benefit the Montgomery County Library). And while the preparation for such an event is a bit daunting I am enjoying the time outside.

Sending blessings of love and light to you and yours.

Spring Time Pause

Backyard Garden, Blacksburg, VA, April 11, 2012

Laying in the dirt
to catch the last of the evening light
My dog snuggles close -
her head resting on my foot.

I type this on my three year old laptop. Duct tape holds the connection cord into the computer. It has lost its sheen, where my base of my palm rests on the keyboard. There is a folder, named 2012 Hoover.  This years, non-client photos, live there. All 1,567 of them.(And yes they are backed up on two external hard drives, and copied onto CD's-) Each photo, a pausing to see.  I pause a lot.  It has been such a lovely beginning of 2012.

Spring Up

Backyard garden, Blacksburg VA- March 26, 2012

Purple Hyacinths in my the garden out back.
I had to lay on the ground to get a nice close image of  them
 SPRINGING UP

Backyard Garden, Blacksburg, VA- March 26, 2012

And later,  after the sun went down outside my kitchen window- I began to play in Photoshop. The colors of purple and green blending together.

Spring has come in with the feel of summer- I even had to cut the grass.  Although I could not start the lawn mower myself-I had to ask my next door neighbor for help. My shoulder just laughed at me when I tried.  Besides cutting the lawn, I have finished the quilt I started back in December- maybe tomorrow I put up a photo. Come to think of it - I do believe the quilt is the same colors as the photos above. Tomorrow - yes tomorrow I will put up a photo.

For now I pause, feeling the day roll over into night. And am glad for just this moment-

Lots of walks and blessings. Including the blessing of a friend who gave me Room Enough  to find joy. Thank you Linda. Hugs all 'round.

And yes there is a heart shape hidden within the main flower. Sometimes we overlook the perfect things in our lives.

Two Mile Circle

Blacksburg, Va- March 10, 2011

The Two Mile Circle
(or Yesterdays Walk)

Heavy and wet-
Torrents of rain
Cold and damp,-
I saw snow flakes.

There was reluctance, and procrastination.
I called it contentment
There was avoidance by napping.
I said I was tired.

Getting dusky-
                      the
                               rain
                                           stopped.

Ever so annoyed I put on a coat and a rain coat over that.
I was NOT going to carry a dumb umbrella.
I put on my hat and my gloves,
miserable in every way
I did not want to be back to walking through drab.

Pepper black lab and princess of all that is right with my life-
looked at me quivering in anticipation-- "a walk? oh really!! A WALK!!! Oh I just can't stand it -
          I
                am
                    so so so so so
                           SO

                       exited.!!!"

"What? You say it is cold and wet?
What?  A Walk- oh a walk..."

So out we go.
It was so much better when I was writing small stones- walks were full of wonder.
Even though it was January.

But now this month I march with the discussion of faith on my mind.
Nothing is tidy, nothing stays were I put it.

Just when I think I can express things clearly the fog rolls in, someone tracks mud on my ideas, the dog throws up on the rug, I notice my closet is too full,I loose my train of thought, a plant needs watering, the phone rings, a brother gets evicted from his house, a bowl shatters, and most of these things I could handle before I thought about faith...
Or
Or what?
Or I just knew the sky would clear, the mud got wiped up, the rug got cleaned up, I removed a a piece of clothing and that was enough, I laughed, brought water to the plant, answered the phone- or not. Did not fret about my brother, yelled at the dog for breaking the bowl, and moved on.
Or did I?
Half way home - I begin to warm up, my heart lifts, I know I will be alright.

Yesterdays stone-
My faith in understanding faith
Made a two mile circle in my mind
Good thing I left and came back home.

Today I was mercifully gifted with two perfect permissions to breathe- and when I mindfully breathe I allow room for faith- even if I don't understand it.

My Daily Calendar reminder -"Patience is the best remedy for most trouble..."
"It is not good to have zeal without  knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way." Proverbs 19:2

May your guideposts to faith always come at just the right time. But know this~ if you loose your faith there will be those of us praying you through. Blessings- teri

Let's see ...
