ripples

In answer to Fiona's question

Here is what she said-

I'm very nosey. I'd love to see your garden. Share a photo or two.Write a few small stones. Write a descriptive piece.Tell us what you love about it, and what you hate.

Tell us how it looks in different seasons.I'm sure we'll have a great selection of gardens around the world to have a look around... big or small, humble or fancy, flowers or vegetable.

Here is what I wrote-

Serendipitous  - I found a small stone for today in the garden-as the world came into focus upon waking. It is cool enough to have the windows and doors of the bedroom open to the small but lovely garden. The garden I share with my husband is a very small walled in area that we have tended for over 20 years. A little man made pond sits in the back corner, the waterfall draws birds, frogs and dragonflies. There are dwarf evergreen trees, several varieties of small Asian maple trees and lots of flowers that find ways to thrive. A statue of Buddha happily shares the garden with St  Therese, Winnie the Pooh, a geisha and an angel. It is a lovely place with stepping stones that lead to shady spots and a purple bench. There are weeds hiding between the cardinal flowers and they don't seem to mind. I try to not let it bother me either.  I love that garden.

A Full Basket

Sept, 6 2006

Today feels like a basket full of hope-
newborn
my dreams still slumber
but my heart sees them and smiles

Today's post will be done before my walk today.  I knew that I would be busy this evening - with my quilting group of 20 + years. So I decided to post early.
By posting early I am hoping to get to bed before 11PM. I need my rest... The traveling husband is taking me to Switzerland on Saturday for a week - and then onto the island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean.  I am uncharacteristically exited--(usually it's, "bah travel- I would rather stay home.") But first I have to pack- well put the stuff in my suitcase. Hmmm.

Why the baby photo? I have a mommy and infant photo session tomorrow- I look forward to photographing such a special time. As I  look at photos for inspiration I found myself remembering my own children as babies, the love bursting out, the awe, the fear.  I was struck how I am feeling a lot of those same feelings now.Not about the photo session- I love those.

I would like to have a concise reason for these feelings- but I don't have one yet.

Let's see ...
