Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Spooky Canyon, Escalante Utah 10-2013

Sometimes you get stuck in a curve
You can't get turned around
Until you ask for help.

I will say this is a full life. Light comes streaming in just when the darkness seems to have won. Blessings and grace shine into your hearts.

Prayerful Pause

Blacksburg, VA- Nov 1, 2012

Peculiar fallen feathers,
atop the dried leaves on the sidewalk.
Someone lost part of their Halloween costume last night.

this poem is a part of

I guess it has been a long time since my last post. I had to stop and think how to post an image; oh dear.

I have found my word for the year to be most useful - again.

Pause.   It is just fine to stop when you are out of breath, from being too busy, or just completely gone.

I was completely gone ... in Sedona, Arizona.

This one is by my husband- that would be me reviewing the image I had just taken.

Sedona, Arizona October 2012

A fellow photographer catching the light of Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona Arizona.
Unfortunately, I did not get his name.

Flying back home, we are whirled into focus as we pray for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. A deep pause of prayer.

Sometimes You Need a Sign

Taos High Road, NM, June 6, 2010

I am not about to complain to you.
I save most of that for my husband
and a few close friends
and-

you know what?

My complaining is getting worse.
But we will save that for another day.

I am someone does a bit of grousing about rules-
but usually follows them anyway.
As a child I was upset by those free spirit children.
As another aside;
somewhere in my late 30's
I discovered a latent free spirit child
who began misbehaving in me.

This is very hard because I worry about rules and decorum-
BUT
goodness knows
I would never
park my motorized vehicle
in the
"Mule Parking Only" spot.

Centered

Sara Nichole Hoover

Many times we become lost
in the
"too muchness"
of life-

There are circumstances that leave us with emotional vertigo.
Too much space or too many options may leave us feeling
overwhelmed,
undefined,

and
unbalanced.

Gently
embracing
the
center

finding
stillness

we
find
balance.

If Gods love defines us we are never lost.

Space:

Area around, between, above, below, or within an object

The Artist’s View: All the area that exists around, between, above, below, and within an object is considered to be space. Forms and shapes are considered to be positive space and space that occupies the area in and around the form and shape is called negative space. Artists that utilize large negative spaces may express loneliness or freedom. Crowding together positive space reflects tension or togetherness. Depending on each other, positive and negative spaces interact with one another to create meaning. Space in three-dimension is considered to be the area that is over, under, around, behind, and through. Sculpture, jewelry, architecture, weaving, and ceramics are three-dimensional art forms. They are artworks that take up real space.
