Into this Heart

01-24-1015- Into This Heart by Teri H Hoover©
for my friend Sharmon

The Cascades Trail, Pembroke, VA 1-2015

We stand reaching.
Leaning in
into this heart.

The tentative heart waiting
to arise unshackled
from the detritus.

We stand reaching
Even in our sleep
we are reaching.

Late Summer Musings

Shine the Divine- I Heart Macro week 18 Sunday Whirl #128- September 22, 2013

The late summer shadows in the alley behind my house.

Though summer is making way for autumn, my dill plants are celebrating with an exuberance of seeds.
These seeds will dry and fall to the ground, ready for their winter rest.
Still and quiet, waiting without distress for the warmth of spring.

So I will curve into autumn.

The Huckleberry Trail- Blacksburg, VA- September 2013

In honor of friend and fellow blogger Laura Hegfield  Shine the Divine

I took this photo with my cell phone the other afternoon -
when I downloaded the image it reminded me of Laura's image on her blog.
It reminded me of her inspiration that always awaits me when I visit.

AND then of course there are hearts-

Photo Fun Wednesday-unpaused

Please scroll down for this weeks challenge entries.
`
It is when time moves without my added effort. Days pass through the haze of sleep deprivation or pain meds. Last week slipped by due to a visit from my two sisters and a niece and nephew. My nephew needed to come down for his college orientation, he will attend Virginia Tech at the end of August. (so exited!)

Anyway here we are in week 5 after surgery for a torn rotator cuff.  I find myself here at 3 AM due to my shoulder screaming to change positions despite prescription sleep aids and pain meds- so I apologize if anything is amiss in this post----one handed typing is still quiet challenging. I am progressing steadily and even did a photo shoot with mt niece last week. It felt great to shoot a little bit again. I hope each of you are well.

Backyard Garden, Blacksburg, VA-July 24,2012

I took this macro while waiting for my niece to change outfits- I love the bit of the sundial on the right. The red flower is called a cardinal flower-and my humming birds love them. It hides a little up-side-down-heart, to the very left.

Unchecked

Latch the chest to
spare the heart.

Strike a pose to
blend the currents.

Refrain from racket to
draft the temper.

Trace the string to
crack the code.

Cracked codes- check
Traced strings- check
Drafted tempers-check
Refrained rackets- check
Blended currents- check
Poses struck-check

The spared heart...

living in the latched chest-

is not living at all.

I seem to be whirling around heart work this week. Whirling is such a good word. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

The words for the Sunday Whirl are: blend, latch, chest, current, draft, string, crack, spare, temper, refrain, racket, trace

A sad little photo, taken on one of my early morning walks in Key West, Florida. You may need to click on the image to enlarge it, just to see this heart in the dark.

I thought this might fit the "Black and White Wednesday theme- but then I thought - since it is my first time doing this challenge I should add a "real" black and white image-

My son and daughter-in-law... what posers.

I love taking photos, it is fun. I love buying fabric, it is fun. While on vacation this past spring, I took this image of the funky light while shopping for fabric.  And that word again was:

FUN!

And just one more heart...I was cutting a lemon for my water a while back -

Relief

by Teri H Hoover

I recall yesterdays empty blue sky of unrelenting perfection,
relief is found in the white wisps
like the graffiti on my heart.

Wholeheartedly

Driveway, Blacksubrg, VA- April 4, 2011

Well no doubt about it
I have been a bit reclusive
and down in the dumps

Spring is a time of transition and I have been feeling out of synch- I just want to be bloomed already. I am feeling a bit ragged and unbloomed.  How is it I walked through the waiting of winter- but am impatient in spring?

Maybe it is I feel like spring can't make up its mind.

To be fair there have other factors-that  darn writing forum-Writing our Way Home has tempted me into my second month long writing endeavor and there has been a lot of  tilling of the soil, so to speak.  Or maybe it is because my husband is "somewhere other than here" (to quote Jimmy Buffet) and won't return until May.  And the 4 year anniversary of the awfulness that took place in my beloved Blacksburg; the tragedy at Virginia Tech.  I went to the vigil on Saturday night with a friend and was moved to tears - again.  Tears of  sadness yes- but tears of hope. And love for the resilience of the human heart.  It takes strength to grieve even after all this time.  It takes hope to walk away and live.

We stand with each other letting go and holding on.

And we choose to bring light -

`
 and blessing.

`
So I am reminded to walk in faith, breathing in the balance.
Letting God make all things new again.

`
Today I was on my 2 mile circle and brought my behemoth camera with me. Five pounds of digital bliss.  Pepper the dog of dogs - trained into submission can walk unleashed for much of the walk; while I happily photograph to my hearts content.  My two gig card filled!! I am very exited to process these photos! But first I had just few more from last week- including the one at the top of this post.
`
`
The photo at the top of this post -did you see the lovely surprise ?
I have hinted at it several times within this post.
The hole in the clouds is the shape of a heart.
And I never saw it until today.
Wholeheartedly
`
Blessings- may all the holes in your heart only be a place for more love.

Home is Where the Heart Is

Vienna. Austria- Feb 10, 2011

Sporadic connectivity
With myself

Two weeks

My heart finds it still contains
my home

Although I have so much to write about I am functioning on 2 hours sleep in 24 hours. Suffice to say - wow what a trip!  Any suggestions on how one catches up in the blogging world?  The 300-500 photos? Re entry will be interesting,   There is a cultural hodge podge in my head after visiting 3 different countries; along with the simmering awareness that the world kept spinning, throwing dictators off their guard with tweet of a twitter.

The snow has all melted- but my pond is still frozen.
And I have lots of  laundry.

Can I be Certain?

Huckleberry Trail, Blacksburg, VA-Dec 5, 2010

If I were sure

My feelings would not wander.
And harsh winds would never blow.

If I were certain

My heart could be of one mind.
And the world would not ask why.

God walk with me in my wanderings,
where the harsh winds blow.

Focus my heart on you-
making the words I speak bring your grace.
With you I may be certain.

Let's see ...

T
hanks for being here.
