Despite the Imperfections

From the alley, Blacksburg, VA - June 16, 2011
photo from one of  my other blogs-

A week after the wonderful celebration at our house- I am still only somewhat back together.  I have a massage today - my lower back, right side only- is all out of whack. So much for balance.

While taking the trash out to the alley I noticed this heart shaped hydrangea.  (Who could have guessed that one of the benefits of an alley would be shared green space? )  The heart shape is not perfect. A touch of openness can be found running through it. To my mind despite that imperfection-it appears more real, more lovely.

Life can have unexpected tilts - that make us feel imperfect - or lost. Even in the midst of  a seemingly perfect day. Our openness brings oneness with the things around us-and some things that cause us puzzlement or anxiety. But if we are honest we may find our heart expanding and the breathe carrying away life's debris so we can smile.  Letting go of the "imperfections" within ourselves and others so we can be ok.
