The rain bounces
off the hood of my black raincoat.
Pop,pip,pip,pip,pop-
Memories of dad's popcorn ricochet inside my head.
Pepper ruefully regards the rivulets of rain
pouring off her shiny black coat.
In our slick black coats-
Wet paws-
Wet booted feet-
We
sidestep
trampoline puddles filled with jumping raindrops.

Aaaaaaaw, poor Pepper! She doesn't look too happy about the rain! Nice poem, though!
ReplyDeleteI like your description of your walk in the rain, but I think Pepper is ready to get inside.
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here today and I am talking myself into going out to run two errands. I admire your fortitude in bad weather. Me? I'm a fairweather traveler.
