Friends Front Hall, Cincinnati Ohio- Sept 30, 2012
We see that on the edge of this photo there is darkness, and it makes the light all the more lovely. It brings a focus to the flowers. We breath into the light.
For me the autumn is a busy time, my photography clients are geared up to have family photos done in time for the holidays. There is less time to play with "my" images. It is interesting that I have taken well over 1000 personal photos, since late July. That is about half the norm. Just how many images does one girl need anyway? I digress. The above photo was one that caught my eye while staying at a friends house a few weekends ago. I hope you like it.
The last weekend in September we were visiting friends; long time friends. My son and his wife are currently doing a year long musical tour, and had several gigs in Cincinnati. (I will be doing a post on this very soon, which I will link to once done.) Our friends were graciously hosting my son and his wife. They were delighted of course, as they consider my son, their son. My husband and I could not resist visiting, since they were "only" 6 hours away. It is good to have friends that are family.

You may have 'only' taken 1,000 personal photos, but if these are any indication they are all outstanding. Your photos for clients are excellent as well.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks George, that means a lot coming from a photographer I admire.
DeleteBeautiful and great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brigitta.
DeleteYour beach photo is wonderful Teri, great colours and composition.
ReplyDeleteI love that photo too!
DeleteThese photos and your words are such a pleasure! thank-you for sharing your gift to bless others.
ReplyDeleteJanet- I am blessed by your words and images as well.
DeleteLove the blues of the water and sky at the beach. The lines and curves in the sand make you feel the flow of the water, Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteStephanie-Thank you very much for stopping by my blog with such a nice comment. I try to get to the ocean at least twice a year. I never tire of photographing the shore. This shot really made me happy.
DeleteI love the idea of flowers blooming in the hallways of my heart. It makes what would seem to be a simple and lovely photo into a beautiful and haunting work of art. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI really love your beach shot too - the reflections of the incoming storm clouds captured on the sand are powerful!
I can see why you are a professional photographer - it's not just that you take beautiful pictures (which you do!) ... but somehow you manage to capture the heart and soul of your clients. That is priceless, and rare.
Clytie- when those words found there way into my head I immediately though of you! Thank you for the sweet comments. I so enjoy photographing people. I love going from "I really don't like getting my photo done," to "Wow, that was fun!" xo teri
DeleteBeautiful beach shot! It brought back memories of family vacations at New Smyrna Beach.
ReplyDeletePat- so nice to find another NSB lover. I have a friend who lives there. She graciously has me visit at least once a year. I consider myself a lucky lady.
DeleteYou must have very satisfied clients! The ocean shot is so professional - should be a postcard. Thank you for sharing with Photo Art Friday, teri.
ReplyDeleteBonnie- I do enjoy my days with clients, it is always something new. Thank you for the nice comment about my shot of the seashore.
Deletethey are wonderful! The ocean shot is breathtaking! I wish to just walk the beach right now! The next picture is great, as well. Love the light and the Fall colors
ReplyDeleteEwa- there is nothing better than standing by the ocean to get your head on straight. I know when I had small children I would dream of going to the ocean, because I knew it would leave my head crystal clear and ready to be a mom again.
DeleteSea and sky ~ always a winning combination. I often get home from the ocean with several shots of the sky, trying to capture something I can't name, the color or the light or the expansiveness. I have the thought that I'd enjoy watching you work and would learn a lot in the process.
ReplyDeleteSharon- the ocean has freed my heart and soul on more than one occasion. I believe the ocean is big enough to hold every unmet longing. It allows you to breathe. I would love to walk on the beach with you-xoxo
DeleteWonderful post. The flowers were so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Sea photo, I so miss visiting the ocean, it's been several years and I'd love to go back again.
Ida - thanks for the comment. I hope there is a trip to the ocean for you sometime soon.
