Breathing in The Light

This photo contributed to::
Black and White Wednesday~Me As Mother (scroll down for photo contribution)

Friends Front Hall, Cincinnati Ohio- Sept 30, 2012

We see that on the edge of this photo there is darkness, and it makes the light all the more lovely. It brings a focus to the flowers. We breath into the light.

For me the autumn is a busy time, my photography clients are geared up to have family photos done in time for the holidays.  There is less time to play with "my" images. It is interesting that I have taken well over 1000 personal photos, since late July. That is about half the norm. Just how many images does one girl need anyway?  I  digress.  The above photo was one that caught my eye while staying at a friends house a few weekends ago. I hope you like it.

The last weekend in September we were visiting friends; long time friends. My son and his wife are currently doing a year long musical tour, and had several gigs in Cincinnati. (I will be doing a post on this very soon, which I will link to once done.) Our friends were graciously hosting my son and his wife. They were delighted of course, as they consider my son, their son. My husband and I could not resist visiting, since they were "only" 6 hours away. It is good to have friends that are family.

Here are some other photos from life:

On the Path

Life is sprinkled with turning points, and stand out moments. The kind that pull you up from where you are comfortably standing and plant you somewhere else. On this day 31 years ago my daughter was born. I find myself recalling the 20 year old me, holding this small being. I started to cry. How would I ever do this?

In times of unbalance I tend to doubt my strength and resolve- only to find that I am stronger than I  know. Creativity born of love and faith.

May you find the strength that you need today to follow a path that is sometimes hard- but oh so filled with blessing. xo teri

All Zipped Up

Winter has January all zipped up.

And there will be no flowers in the garden for quite sometime.

Today I took a class with a very fun friend. We made jewelry out of zippers.  We laughed a lot. We are very good at being very silly together- For years our brains have bounced ideas off each other and we appreciate and encourage every creative endeavor we undertake. From painting walls our favorite colors to finding the perfect dog bowl. From making mosaics on the side of a gas station to creating a  new garden. I have always gone outside the box but she allowed me to go outside the box without apologies. She gives me confidence to let my art out... Let my heart out. Love you L L

What the Angels See

Kitchen Window, Blacksburg, VA- Jan 3, 2011

There is an angel in the window.
She is there all year long.

What does she see?
A stunning string of days held together by grace.
