Grandma Helen-

The welcoming smile, the laugh, the love.
Her
arrival in Heaven will be heralded with the chirping of chickadees,
sparrows and cardinals. Kittens will purr and curl and dogs noses will
nuzzle in. Her siblings, friends and of course Elmer and Mary Anne will
be there. She has waited so long to see them again.
She brought a bit of heaven to earth. Faithful and joyful. Her greetings were with an open heart and smile. A visit was filled with heartfelt love. And her good byes were a blessing; standing in the door way with a wave and a smile, you never saw her leave that space. She waited with a prayer in her heart until you had gone from view.
So
we now stand in that doorway and wave good bye. Now we will wait, with a
prayer in ours hearts. She is gone from our view, but forever with
us. I now look forward to the greetings and hugs when I see her again.
Forever with us- but I am missing her still.

Your sentiments are beautiful, Teri. Where are the words to explain our grief when we lose someone so wonderful from our lives? You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers ~
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon- I write this as we remember all those who suffer needlessly the acts of continued violence. I am glad your family is ok.
DeleteWonderful editing on the first photo...so delightful! & very inspirational words.

Thank you Leslie, she was the kindest yet sturdiest woman I have ever known.
DeleteBoth beautiful and heartfelt, Teri. Sending you love and light!
ReplyDeleteThank you Liz- We must shine on.
DeleteA wonderful memorial for the well-lived life of a cherished soul. What a great example to all. Teri, I'm mesmerized by the first photo. Can't quite decide what is "real" and what is reflection. A good metaphor to accompany your poem.
ReplyDeleteBarb- glad you see my metaphor. We would like to think life is unchanging and settled. And that what we see is permanent and "real". But you and I both know we must be grateful for those beautiful moments and breathe through the challenges.
Deleteall of this is so BEautimous, Teri. you DO have a way with words... and pictures ;~D
ReplyDeleteThank you Currie- Words and images to help me light my way.
