Happy Wednesday Everyone- yup I am just a bit late. `
Despite myself and the dreary weather I have been able to lose myself in some images. Here are just a few of the photos I have played with this week-

I love how "in focus" the stamens of this amaryllis are. This is one lucky amaryllis; it is in my house and still has its stamens. When my husband is home I cut off the stamens and it keeps him from sneezing. BUT since he was away I was able to leave them on! And if you look close, you will see two lovely hearts, hidden in this flower.

Next up, was a nice neat organized book case, at my son and daughter in laws home, in Nashville. I took this photo a year and a half ago. It now looks as old as it is.

Next, I went into photoshop with this photo taken during a recent photo session. The original was exposed incorrectly, (yes that happens) so I took the opportunity and gave it some lovely layers.

And last but not least, a photo from the same client session. To me, there is nothing more exquisite than the human face and all the layers of blessing it holds. A perfect day when little ones come to play in the garden.

You have heard me go on about creativity. Creativity blends the life's contrasts; brings light to darkness. Creativity has in many forms. At the core, creativity is seeing a connection. Some times that seeing is enough. Other times we are compelled to find outward expressions. Writing, sewing, drawing, knitting, biking, painting, quilting, cooking, gardening, walking, photographing, digital painting and we won't even go into the sciences. Life at is very core is creative, finding ways of being. Allowing blessings- giving and receiving.
I continue to honor my New Years resolution to expand my use of Photoshop. Although I am busy with client work, I continue to really enjoy seeing where Photoshop will take me.
Added Note: Photoshop is only one tool among many for photo editing. I have been using my outdated Photoshop CS3 for many years now, only because that is what my husband used. There are many wonderful editing programs out there, let me know what you use!

I can see yo have been enjoying playing with photos here. Must be a little disappointing to have to remove the stamens, they provide a great focus. Love your last with the child's face, you are so right about the human face.
ReplyDeleteKaren- thanks so very much for stopping by. Photographing children is such a delightful blessing. And on days I am not photographing, I really enjoy my photo editing.
DeleteHi, and welcome to the Robins, even if you did join in a few days late. I like all of these photos a lot, but especially the last two. Very, very nice!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Karen- and thanks for your nice prompt and coming by! I look forward to participating again.
Deletefabulous selection of photos. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Clare- it was a good week.
DeleteYou have been having a good time:) The color is so vivid on the amaryllis that it looks artificial. The layered photos have wonderful depth. Children change quickly ~ the moment you captured will forever be a gift.
ReplyDeleteSharon, That amaryllis looked that way every afternoon from 4:30-5:15 for a week. It was really wildly red. Thanks as always for being here. Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteI see the hearts! Not so well hidden, I think? (Smiles!)
ReplyDeleteI am photo manipulation challenged, but I occasionally score with Gimp (quite by accident, I might add!). My kids are experts, but are impatient teachers.
The portrait photo of the little girl is EXQUISITE, by the way. You caught a beautiful innocence that quite stole my heart away!
Clytie- So glad to reconnect with you. It rather serendipitous that we both seem to be on the same path. Thanks for featuring me at your place this week- I am honored. xo
DeleteWonderful "hidden" hearts! I especially love the mother and child photo with "layers". I haven't worked with a photo editing program in that way, and love the look. I can see I need to start playing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Its nice to meet you! :)
Helen - so nice to have you stop by and leave your great comment. I so enjoy my work with families. My next favorite thing is photo editing. If you have any basic questions I may be able to help you out. I look forward to staying in touch.
DeleteBeautiful shots Teri! Love both the macro and the book photos especially.
ReplyDeleteLori- thanks so much for stopping by. I look forward to more prompts!
DeleteI wish I knew what I use to edit...I mean all I do is resize sometimes...brighten a bit and crop...that is about all I can muster:) I wish I knew how to do all the artsy things you show here. If I lived near you I´d hire you to teach me a few of your secrets:) then,,,,,wow I just LOVE that childs face looking down...what a capture...pure sweetness and looooook at those lashes,,,so sweeeet. This is a fab post....I love your artsy redo of the bookcase and the woman and child...very nice and your amaryillis is gorgeous...I love to paint those. They make a beautiful stand along flower for watercolor. Your words on creativity....super!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great start to a sunny weekend. I had to think of you this week on one of my mountain jaunts.....I found a swarm of metallic green beetles...ahhhh so wonderful. I actually got a few shots of them and then a tree covered in butterflies....they brought tears to my eyes....and I got a few shots. Then some fab shadows cast onto some maple trees and then some fab shots down into the valley,,,then I found a tree house but my dream fotos session was brought abruptly to a halt when some BIG dog thought he had to protect his master from ME,,,,from me....of all things and was freaking out, growling, showing those pearly whites....yikes I took that as a hint it was time to head back to the car....but the things I found that day were made in heaven and I so wished that a "real" photographer were there. You want to know something else...I never take my camera along and that day I did....how ironic is that. I surely hope once I get the shots onto my computer and have a better look at them that they look as astounding as they did in real life.
We shall see. oh yeah,,,I did get some jogging in that day....only 35 min...and not a bear in sight..................have a nice Friday evening ....take care,,,,
Cynnie- we really do need to move closer together. I would even take up jogging!!!....and be your personal photogtapher. Stay away from mean dogs and have a great weekend.
DeleteYes, these photos are great, I love these exquisite compositions.
ReplyDeleteLeovi- Thank you for your nice comment and joining my little band of friends.
DeleteThese are gorgeous. I love how delicately you were able to capture and depict that flower at the top. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteBrianne- Thank you very much for your comment. I hope to be adding more macro images of flowers in the future- they are such good subjects.
