Attention To Details

Title borrowed from Jules Page -(her blog is here) writing on WOWH writing community.

Sun Room Room, Blacksburg, VA- Jan 13, 2012

While ironing the quilt top I "finished" last night (finished except for the border) I was once again reminded that ironing is much more effective the longer you leave the iron in place. Just allowing the irons heavy, hot, heat, hover, haughtily... (it is small stones month - so my words got colorful) The wrinkles will come out and the seam will lie flat. When I
pause...
I find focus- the photographers friend.
Illuminating.

Time to curl up on the couch for a bit.
Just me, some hot tea, a dog and a book.
Not so sure I will drink much tea or read many pages.

Oh and for the curious at heart- the MRI showed I have a tear in the supraspinatus posterior- extending to intfraspinatusuin ... rotator cuff  tear. No idea how I did it, and not sure what the next steps are- surgery maybe...find out on the 18th. Sounds like I will have lots of opportunity to pause.

  2. A rotator cuff tear? Were you skiing? (I know you weren't, but that's a "popular" injury here.) The quilt's mix of colors are so eye-catching. I want to "pause" and examine it further.

  3. The quilt is beautiful. I'm sorry to hear about the rotator cuff tear, but that should give you opportunities to pause and repair.

  4. On, no. Sorry to hear about your shoulder. It's better to know than not to know, though, and now decide what to do next. You can always concoct an exciting adventure that led to the injury:)

Your quilt is gorgeous. You know me and the blues ~

  5. Lovely quilt, i like the shapes and colours - wonderful work. I love to curl up with a dog too, although he insists on sitting on whatever takes my focus from him!! Best wishes for the shoulder repair and recovery.

  6. Those patches of cloth in the last post became this quilt! I like your way of displaying it as the color and the patterns on each cloth look nice in your garden. The stone lantern is lovely.

With best wishes for your shoulder,
    Yoko

  7. Thanks for all the kind thoughts about my shoulder... I had better get cracking on this quilt- I won't be doing much sewing for a while if surgery is needed!
