Summoning Lines of Safety - a photographic series by Teri H Hoover.
Images that hold the journey towards understanding
the solace found in the curve of a line.
A story of out and back again.
That is really impossible to see without a magnifying glass. But it was a wee update on FB documenting my time working on this project. It was great to be immersed in creating a series of images that became known to me as Summoning the Lines of Safety. (Lines of Safety) The process has been invaluable. A shout out to all my friends at the Blacksburg Regional Art Association who continue to encourage and inspire. To Becky for a fine text that help me shake the fear that it made no sense. For my internet art inspiration friend Sharmon. To my family especially my husband who is beginning to think I might be on to something.
The series is on display until July 15, 2015 at Brown Insurance
100 Hubbard St # A, Blacksburg, VA 24060

As an aside let me say I LOVE my job as a portrait photographer. It continues to bring me wonderful interactions with great clients. But when I am not working with clients I spend time exploring photography in other ways. These past months have given me confidence to explore concepts with my photographic images, I look forward to continuing the many facets of this artful journey.

Absolutely beautiful Teri!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura- I hope the lines of summer are drifting your way. xo Teri
DeleteYes, my friend, you are onto something. Your photos are a wonder and the connections you make are amazing. Just this moment I am plotting how I might be able to see your show. I will let you know!
ReplyDeleteSharon, the connections are slow to come but they do come. Thanks for stopping in with your nice comment. Teri
DeleteTeri, I'm touched and humbled that you would find me an inspiration in some way. I so wish that I could be there with you at your reception. The images on your invitation are so elegant; you have captured the beauty of nature that just pulls me in and touches my heart. Like you, as a child I had a woods with a creek where I spent much of my time; I feel that we are kindred spirits. Congratulations to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteJust lines...nature communicating through lines ~
ReplyDeleteLovely. Hope this showing was grand.
Cheers!
