Photo Fun Wednesday- And I am Not Going to France

Happy Wednesday.... Nope it is Saturday-and that is all I have to say about that..
`
WELL we are closing in on Tuesday, June 26th. A year of shoulder pain, from a torn rotator cuff, will be subjected to the whims of one Dr Miller. I have worked diligently to make needed preparations for the 4-6 weeks of having only three functioning appendages.

How does one put on a shirt with one arm? Eat left handed? Unscrew a jar? Wash your hair? Walk the dog? Sew? Garden? Type? Lift and shoot a 2 pound camera?  I think the answer to most of these questions is, "you don't".  I confess I have been practicing eating left handed- and I won't starve.

`
The other day I heard about someones upcoming trip to France in yoga class. Later, I told the teacher I was going to pretend my surgery was like a trip to France. She laughed. Now every time I see her she asks how my preparations for my trip are going?
`
So taking my mind off that... here are my images and contributions two of my very favorite blogs to link up to for their great challenges and friendly people.

See you all in a few weeks.

Because I just found a heart in my photo!

Backyard Garden, Blacksburg VA-May 19,2012

I put this up earlier last week. I am quite pleased with my use of layers in this image. I have been creating my own layers by taking photos of sidewalks and driveways, and paper. I make them real edgy in photoshop and add them to my images.I am looking into making my own brushes too. I still have not figured out how to drop out back grounds. Some day.

Here are some additional roses for LeAnne- Happy Birthday LeAnne!!

  3. Lovely shots and treatments Teri. Have a wonderful trip! I broke both bones in my arm a year and a half ago and had two pins put in. It's awkward to try and function with just 3 limbs - but you will find your own ingenious ways of coping, I'm sure. Time to read all those books you've been wanting to read. Best wishes for a successful surgery and a happy recovery. Thanks for sharing at Photo Art Friday.

    1. Bonnie- BOTH arms! I feel so much better now. I will be peeking in on everyone. You are right of course, I will need to be very creative, maybe then I won't feel deprived not taking photos? Looking forward to sharing more photos soon.

  5. Your flowers are beautiful, Teri. You have magic in your soul.

My thoughts and prayers are with you for Tuesday, Teri. I just read someone's blog who had shoulder surgery last week. If my memory worked I'd tell you who it was too! (one of those little drawbacks of having had a stroke ... short term memory is just what it says. Short).

    Blessings, dear Teri.

  9. Good luck on that surgery. I have had a "frozen shoulder" and I have some idea of what you are experiencing, only less. No fun. It will get better. See you in the Eiffel Tower.

  12. Oh this is such a beautiful 'artwork' piece, love it! And I don't envy you having to go it with one arm...I did the leg surgery with a leg brace for 4 months, not bending or putting any weight...I couldn't wait to vacuum when it was all over!! haha

    Good luck!

  13. It's surprising how important those appendages really are, as you will see when you're without one of them. Good luck, and take care of yourself! Man, I'm so jealous- I wish I could vacuum!
